What has brought me here.

A bit about my journey

My hometown is a small city called Victoria, British Columbia on the west coast of Canada. You’re never further away than a fifteen minute drive from the ocean. The mountains are filled with ancient pine rain forest. The landscape continues to inspire me with wonder and awe, even now as I live in one of the largest cities in the world.

I moved to London in 2013, after graduating from a four year acting programme, and before that, a one year musical theatre course. I had never lived away from home and (in hindsight), knew very little about what I was getting into! I moved to London with my best friend and followed my dreams of being a West End actress for about five years. This worked, until it didn’t.

Yoga came to me whilst I was working a desk job that brought me no joy, creativity or sense of self. Having avoided practicing yoga for years, because of my fears of being too inflexible (read more on this below), I finally found a studio and teachers who taught me how to make yoga work for my own individual body. That little studio in Crouch End, North London, changed my life.

Offerings

Practicing with me is an invitation to explore your own individual body. How do the asanas (poses) feel today? For me, yoga should never be about comparison, or how things look aesthetically.

It should be about breathing, and exploring and taking time for just you.

You can expect an energising, breath led practice, with a focus on each person's unique range of motion.

I am trained in the Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin styles of yoga and teach in person studio classes in South London. I am also available for 1-1’s, corporate sessions for your team and bespoke sessions tailored to you. Please read on below for more information on my training.

Yoga for Performers

My background as a trained performer allows me to bring vocal and physical presence to the space. I work with young performers to help them find onstage embodiment through yoga and pranayama (breath work) preparation. Click the image below to learn more.

A little more context

When I was young, my ballet teacher told me, ‘there’s no hope for your flexibility’. I spent most of my upbringing believing that this was true, and never considered doing yoga until my early twenties. As I inhabit a less flexible body, I have spent years learning and understanding how to modify poses to suit my own mobility.

My class sequences are very well suited to practitioners of all levels - I recognise that many people who practice yoga can feel restricted by their flexibility, and I adapt accordingly. By that same token, I offer appropriate options for those wishing to build extra heat in the body. There is a strong focus on honouring where you are at in the moment - sometimes you  need to rest, and sometimes you need a fiery flow!

I also offer chair yoga, one-to-one and corporate sessions.

I would love to be a part of your yoga journey. If you’re just starting out, or if you’ve been practicing for years - we can work together.

I would love to meet you.
